As some of you know, part of this business is me as a performer.. I currently sing with an acoustic duo called Rain and we're releasing a video to one of our songs next week. I've put together a small vignette to promote this when the video goes live next week (March 8th)... enjoy..

Its all a bit quiet here..

Hi Everyone,

Well, its all been a bit quiet on the Ananassa site for a while, this is mainly by design more than anything. Lots of behind the scenes work going on with all my different projects.. Here's a list (yawn now..)

1) Rain - Rain Acoustic Duo have been working hard on new songs and old alike, doing gigs and generally, just getting by. In fact they have a couple of side projects in the offing, but I won't tell you about them yet, as it would spoil the surprise. ;-) Check out the website, if you haven't already: Rain

2) Retro Refits - Considering a name change to that aspect of the business, but not entirely sure yet as I'm currently working on some great new/old things for this. It all takes time and the time I'm spending blogging, could be the time I'm spending making and doing..

3) Spinych - The wooly side of the business has taken a bit of a back seat recently.. I have three fleeces in the shed that need washing (they're from last year, so I'm almost too scared to pull them out!!).. and have 2 fleeces that need carding, dyeing, whatever.

4) Video filming.. well, that's technically under number 1.. have been filming a video for one of the Rain tracks, which has taken longer than expected. Oh well, such is the way of things.

5) Writing - I've started writing! I believe everyone has at least one book in them, so I've started mine. This is currently in blog form and can be found at: Natural Supernature

5) Not forgetting my most important job, that of being a mum to my two lovely girls. Its a hard act when you're a creative person when you've always got your hand into something and needing to do the daily stuff too, without which the well oiled machine would grind to a halt.

So yes, there you go, lots going on, plenty of plates spinning as per usual!

New page Added!!!

Yes folks.. I've just added another new page to my website.. I know its still under construction, its because I've been busy behind the scenes (as was mentioned in my previous post)..
Anyway, I have decided, after much deliberation that I would add Tarot readings into my business. I've done them for around 25 years and decided 2014 was the time to actually incorporate them into what I do.

Its been a decision that has bothered me for some time, should I? shouldn't I? But then I thought.. "why not?"

So, if you're interested in having a reading.. I charge £20 as a flat rate for reading and for this you'll get a couple of spreads, including a 12 month ahead reading.

Well, what's been happening?

Gosh, its been a busy time.
With the pre-Christmas rush, orders to fulfill and, well, general Christmassy stuff to do, its been rather hectic. However, I would like to say its been calm, but Its still busy here, with the admin work, book keeping, not to mention the recording and producing of the first Rain CD. Even January is proving to be busy.

There's also a few things in the pipeline, that I can't quite share with you yet, but rest assured its going to be interesting and fun. With new strings being added to the bow all the time.

So, while it may seem like things are quiet from the outside, there's a fair bit going on indoors, as it were.

Being busy and not being well...

Hi folks, Just to let you know I've been a bit busy during November... I've had a few gigs with the acoustic duo I'm a part of, which has kept me out of mischief, but has meant I've had to lay off the more creative side, however, its good to be in demand and to be able to bring something that people want, which is why I decided to combine my work all into one business.. That way I have the freedom to choose to work on what I need to, within the demands of my clientele. I picked up an order for 4 crochet hats, which are now with their new owner, and was able to work on these while I've been "under the weather".. with a little Winter virus. So I've been snuffling and coughing while crocheting... Beats sitting there feeling sorry for myself. So, yes, did a few gigs, had to cancel a couple, due to the sniffles, but am still able to do other things, which is what being in business is all about, adaptability... I also have a request for some funky brooches.. which I'll get made and photograph to show you all.. I look at being ill as a time when I can reflect on what I've done when I've been well, to garner knowledge and information and work on niggling little jobs like updating my admin.. I look to what I can do, rather than what I can't.. Hopefully this nasty little bug will be on its way soon and I can sing again too. So what's in the pipeling (just making a note for myself).. 1)Finishing off the first Rain CD (see http://www.rainacousticduo.blogspot.com for details of how that and the gigs are coming along 2)Making "stuff"... always making something (currently some fingerless mitts from the left over alapaca which was dyed with food colouring) 3)Getting on top of my monthly accounts.. which is straightforward enough. 4)Keeping calm amidst the chaos.
